Below is the complete list of what goes into a GB Council application, whether you're applying for a trekking permit, a climbing permit, or both — with a short note on why each item matters.
Filed once, on your operator's letterhead
Operator Letterhead Application
The formal request to the GB Council Secretariat, submitted under a registered operator's credentials.
Expedition Application Form
Declares the peak or route, dates, and full team composition to the Secretariat.
Member List With Roles
Every climber, guide and support staff member named against their function on the expedition.
Route Map
A marked map of the intended peak approach or trekking corridor, camp by camp.
Operator Licence Copy
Confirms the filing operator is registered with Pakistan's Directorate of Tourist Services.
Rescue Fund Undertaking
A signed guarantee that evacuation costs are covered if the worst happens on the mountain.
Filed individually, one set per person
Passport Copy
Must stay valid at least six months beyond your planned return date.
Visa / e-Visa Grant Notice
Either your completed application or the approval notice from NADRA's portal.
Passport Photo
Recent, white background, matching passport photo specifications.
Altitude CV
A short note on relevant trekking or climbing experience, especially for peaks above 6,500m.
Rescue Insurance Certificate
Must explicitly cover high-altitude evacuation, not just standard travel insurance.
Liability Undertaking
A signed acknowledgement of expedition risk and code of conduct in the field.
Document questions we hear most
Most don't — plain copies are accepted for the majority of items. We flag the few that do need attestation when we review your file.
Clear scanned copies are accepted for filing. Originals of your passport and insurance certificate should still travel with you.
It won't be accepted for permits above 6,500m — we can point you to policies that explicitly cover helicopter evacuation at altitude.
