We strongly recommend that all clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance before joining any tour, trekking programme, jeep safari, mountaineering expedition or other adventure activity.

Mandatory travel insurance requirements

All international clients are strongly advised to arrange valid travel insurance before arrival to Pakistan. For trekking, mountaineering and high-altitude expeditions, insurance must specifically cover the planned adventure activities.

The insurance should include:

• Emergency medical treatment and hospitalization.
• Accidental injury and personal accident coverage.
• Emergency evacuation from remote mountain regions.
• Helicopter rescue and air ambulance, where available.
• High-altitude trekking and mountaineering.
• Acute Mountain Sickness
• Search and rescue expenses, where covered by the insurer.
• Medical repatriation to the home country.
• Trip cancellation and interruption.
• Baggage loss, theft and travel delays.

Insurance for trekking and mountaineering

For clients participating in trekking and climbing programmes in the Karakoram, Himalaya and Hindu Kush mountain ranges, the insurance policy must specifically cover:

• Trekking at the maximum altitude of the planned itinerary.
• Mountaineering and technical climbing, where applicable.
• Glacier crossings and high-altitude camping.
• Emergency helicopter evacuation, subject to availability and operational conditions.
• Medical expenses arising from altitude-related illnesses.
• Emergency rescue and transportation to the nearest suitable medical facility.

For Trekking, Mountaineering, Ski, Rafting is important to make from reliable insurance company like Global Insurance etc. The policy should cover at least 30000 US dollar.

Client responsibilities

Every client is responsible for:

• Purchasing appropriate insurance before travelling.
• Providing North Pakistan Adventure with a copy of the insurance certificate.
• Checking that the policy covers all activities included in the itinerary.
• Providing emergency contact information.
• Disclosing relevant medical conditions to their insurer.
• Carrying their insurance documents during the tour.
• Contacting their insurance provider immediately in an emergency whenever possible.

North Pakistan Adventure reserves the right to refuse participation in an activity if the required insurance documentation is not provided.

Emergency rescue and evacuation

In the event of an accident, injury or serious illness during a tour or expedition, North Pakistan Adventure will make reasonable efforts to coordinate local assistance and facilitate emergency arrangements.

However:

• Rescue operations depend on weather, terrain, accessibility and available resources.
• Helicopter rescue is not guaranteed that is depends over the local conditions
• Evacuation expenses are the responsibility of the client or their insurance provider.
• Any costs not covered by insurance must be paid by the client.
• The company cannot guarantee the speed or availability of emergency medical services in remote mountain regions.

Exclusions and limitations

North Pakistan Adventure does not provide personal travel insurance to clients unless a separate written insurance arrangement is expressly confirmed.

The company shall not be responsible for:

• Medical expenses not covered by the client’s insurance.
• Rescue or evacuation expenses excluded from the insurance policy.
• Loss of personal belongings.
• Insurance claims rejected by the insurance provider.
• Losses arising from undisclosed medical conditions or policy exclusions.
• Delays caused by adverse weather, landslides, road closures or other circumstances beyond reasonable company control.

Proof of insurance

Clients may be requested to submit the following documents before the commencement of their journey:

• Copy of valid insurance certificate.
• Insurance company name.
• Policy number.
• Emergency assistance telephone number.
• Confirmation of medical evacuation and helicopter rescue coverage, where applicable.

Important notice to international travellers

We strongly recommend that international visitors purchase comprehensive travel insurance in their home country before travelling to Pakistan.
