TREKKING PEAKS
In Pakistan, peaks below 6,500 meters are classified as trekking peaks and can be climbed without a permit or royalty. This initiative by the Government of Pakistan aims to promote trekking and mountaineering.
Many stunning peaks below 6,500 meters are found in the Himalayas, Karakoram, Hindu Kush, and Pamir ranges. However, for peaks in restricted areas, a trekking permit from the Gilgit-Baltistan Tourism Department is required, costing 50 US dollars per person. Climbers must also hire a licensed guide, obtain personal accident insurance for themselves and their support staff, and attend necessary briefings in Islamabad.
These trekking peaks offer accessible mountaineering experiences, beautiful landscapes, and opportunities to engage with local cultures. While acclimatization is essential to avoid altitude sickness, some peaks can be technically challenging. Respecting local customs is important since Pakistan’s northern regions are culturally rich.
“North Pakistan Adventure” offers expeditions on peaks below 6,500 meters. These trekking peaks provide fantastic opportunities for adventure and unique experiences in one of the world’s most breathtaking mountain landscapes.
