The brown trout species (Salmo trutta) was introduced from Europe in 1916 by political officials in Gilgit. It has large scales with dark and red spots on its sides.
The northern region includes the districts of Gilgit, Baltistan, and Diamir, which form the entire old state of Jammu and Kashmir extending from Kilik and Minthka passes in the north and Shandur pass in the west. The Inner Himalayas, the Hindu Kush, and the Karakoram range are crossed by several mountain passes that run parallel to each other and form valleys and residential centers in between – all mountainous and mountainous areas. PHANDUR LAKE is beautiful and Ghizer river. This lake is located at an altitude of about 2,800 meters and is full of trout. HANDRAP Lake, west of Thunder, is also famous for its trout fishing.
SATPARA LAKE is located 8 km south of Skardu. Satpara Lake is a beautiful lake in Skardu and is full of trout.
Also in the northern region of Pakistan is Rama Lake in Astore and Deoasi Plateau (the highest plateau in the world) and Chitral Valley for trout fishing.
