In 1986, a track was established connecting Baltoro Glacier to Hush Valley via a pass called GONDOGORO LA 5700M. Since then, this difficult Pass has attracted many trekking groups and numerous mountain expeditions. However, the popularity of this tour is also an accurate reflection of its attractions. This is a long and demanding river along the BRALDU River, then up to the Baltoro Glacier. The main route is through the Baltoro Glacier, which is 65 km long. The highest peak of the Baltoro Glacier and k2 base camp is a spectacular combination of the Godwin Austin Glacier with the densest peak concentration and the center of the heaviest glacier area outside the polar region of the Baltoro Glacier, called CONCORDIA 4700M, from K-2 Base camp at home.
CONCORDIA is the high point for this hike and the viewpoint of several peaks. If you want to visit the k2 base camp of Mount. The panoramic view of K-2 from Concordia is like Mount Everest from Kala Patar.
The reward, on the other hand, is spectacular, taking you to the top of the Karakorum Mountains in Concordia, to the K2 base camp, and then to the foot of the Gondogoro Pass on the Vigne Glacier. After passing there is Dalzampa, a great place to camp with water and grass, then Satchio on Gondoghoro glacier, and finally a high camp in Hushe Valley.
Because this trip is on a “Difficult” level, crossing streams/rivers and traveling on glaciers. Requires good physical fitness and previous hiking / basic mountaineering experience (cramping, ice ax, and rope, etc.). Walk for 3-7 hours on the route, including a short break and lunch during the trip. But the day pass from Gondoghoro La is about 8-10 hours depending on weather conditions (you should start at 2:00 AM) because Gondoghoro La is doable and can be fully appreciated only in good/sunny weather). Importantly, it takes patience to overcome difficult times (bad weather, miners’ health problems, and unforeseen circumstances).
