This spectacular trip to K2 combines the classic approach from Baltoro Glacier to Concordia with enough time to climb to K2 Base Camp on Godwin Austin Glacier. It is far and away the most popular trek in Pakistan, attracting many Trekking groups and many climbing expeditions.
After collecting our team of porters and crew, we skirted the edge of the Biafo Glacier before taking the open road through the rapids of the Bradley River. It provides a stunning backdrop to the massive rock face that includes Trango Towers.
Descending from K-2, the Godwin Austin Glacier and the Baltoro Glacier known as “CONCORDIA 4700m” are located in the middle of the coldest area outside the Polar region and the densest concentration on Earth. You will appreciate the Golden Throne, Gasherbrum IV, Puncak lega, Chogolisa, Miter Puncak, and K-2 (8611 meters), the second-highest mountain in the world, an unparalleled concentration that defines the depth of the Karakoram.
From our base in Concordia, the highest point of this trek, an exhilarating hike up Godwin Austin Glacier to K2 Base Camp (5135 meters) is possible. This allows you to see the classic Climbing route on K2 and understand why it is the most difficult 8000m to climb.
ACTUAL PERIOD:
Since this tour is moderate, spend 3-7 hours on a good road with short breaks and lunch during the trip. Cross streams/rivers and travel on glaciers. All you need is good physical fitness, some previous trekking experience, and patience to overcome (this trek is not recommended for the faint of heart in case of bad weather, miners’ health problems, and unforeseen circumstances).
