The kalashis are a very small ethnic mountain community who inhabit only three narrow valleys in the eastern Hindu Kush range. Birir, Boumburet and Rumbur. These valleys lie close to the Afghanistan border and are surrounded by high peaks. The Kalashis are 3000-4000 people altogether still practice their ancient religion, the mysterious origins of which are not yet completely known. The remote valley lie about 20 miles away from the town of Chitral, which belongs to the North-West Frontier Province in Pakistan, now called Khyber Paktunkwa, KPK. The Kalashis still speak their own language-kalashawar and still rely on an oral tradition.After Kalash you will come to Gilgit then to Hunza via Shandur Pass 3800m. Hunza is comprises of number of villages, Karimabad is the capital of ancient kingdom of Hunza Valley is like stage setting. The attractive Valley is encircled with mountains as Ulter Peak 7238 m, Rakaposhi 7788 m, Diran Peak 7256 m and Golden Peak 7027 m, undoubtedly the most prominent and well known mountains in Gilgit/Hunza area. Hunzakuts are famed for long longevity, some to over 100 years. Until 1974 Hunza was an independent kingdom, greatly isolated from the rest of the world until the completion of the Karakorum Highway to CHINA in 1978. The people of Hunza are Islimies follower of Aga Khan and as known open-minded, progressive and well inter-graded with the change of modern society such as the female education is considered to be more important.You will also travel on some part of the Karakorum Highway, 8th wondrous of the world, also called Silk Route on the footsteps of Marco-polo. This is one of the highest and most spectacular roads in the world. A highway that cuts through the crest of the Karakorum Range affording unrivaled views of the snow capped peaks, while linking the historic cultures of South and North and the Hunza valleys with Kashghar and Central Asia. The Karakorum Highway is the life-artery for the Northern Areas of the country and provides the road link between China via Khunjerab Pass 4733m, opened in 1982 also with Central Asian States and mainland in the south of the country

ITINERARY:

Day -01: Arrival to Islamabad airport, meeting with guide and transfer to the hotel, in the rest of time sightseeing of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, overnight at hotel
Day-02: Drive to Swat Valley via Takht-Bahi, the Buddhist Monastery and sightseeing of the town, overnight at hotel
Day-03: Continue to Chitral via Loweri Pass 7-8 hrs drive, overnight at hotel
Day-04: Drive 2hrs to Kalash Valley, Bombret and walk around the valley
Day-05: In the morning drive to Rumbur Valley just nearby some walks around and then drive to Rumbure overnight at hotel
Day-06: In the morning drive to Birir then continue to Chitral, overight in Chitral
Day-07: Drive to Mastuj 3-4 hrs drive from Chitral town, overnight at hotel
Day-08: Continue to Phunder 5-7 hrs via the famous Shandur Pass 3800M, the highest polo ground, in the way you will make several stops at view points, overnight at hotel
Day-09: Proceed to Hunza Karimabad 6-8 hrs via Gilgit drive along the Ghazier River, sightseeing in Gilgit town, Continue to Hunza-Karimabad through the shadow of the Mount Rakaposhi 7788m in beautiful nature. Overnight at hotel
Day-10: Sightseeing of Karimabad and visit surrounding areas, visit of Altit Fort, Baltit Fort, visit of Hopar and Duikar. Overnight in Duikar at hotel
Day-11: Drive to Passu, e-route visit to secret rocks of Hunza, ruby mine on KKH, Attabad Lake, Gulmit museum, Hussani suspension bridge, visit of Borith Lake, Passu Village, walk around overnight at hotel in Passu
Day-12: Drive to Khunjerab Pass, 4733M, border with China and backed to Karimabad (7-9 hrs drive). Overnight at hotel in Karimabad
Day-13: Drive from Karimabad to Besham or Naran, overnight at hotel
Day-14: Continue to Islamabad 6 -7 hrs via Taxila, overnight at hotel
Day-15: Departure from Islamabad (drop to the airport)
